Le Arti Orafe, the most important school for contemporary goldsmith in Italy,is glad to announces the fourth edition of “Lucca Preziosa”, and the second edition of Lucca Preziosa Young, the collateral exhibition of young goldsmith/artists selected for their individual research and for the originality of their creations.

Schedule for Lucca Preziosa 2009.

Lucca Preziosa 2009 will be presented in New Delhi (India), in the venue of the Italian Embassy, on the 8th of January 2009. A selection of the exhibition will be presented to Inhorgenta Fair, in Munich, February 2009.The full exhibition, together with the second edition of “Lucca Preziosa Young”, will be showed in Lucca from the 24th of April to the 17th of May,2009, in the fantastic venue of Villa Bottini.

Aims
The aims of LPYoung is to contribute to the diffusion of what is new in the research jewellery, what the new generation of goldsmiths/designers/artists is
“boiling in the pot”…. The exhibition does not have a predetermined theme but the works put forward must be outstanding in terms of research into form and technique and display continuity and coherence in that research. The items of jewellery may be created in any material and the designers and artists involved must attach a personal statement to the photos.

Participants
We invite goldsmiths, designers, artists, to submit their candidature,provided that they are not older than 35 years at the end of 2009, and that they don’t already had personal exhibition in galleries/museums.

Deadline for application:
The application must arrive by regular mail on January 31st, 2009, at latest.

Candidates must send to the school’s address a CD with:

- Application form (see attachment);

- Three images of their works (selected participants will present 5 pieces to the exhibition). Each image must be send in two format: at 300 DPI resolution, in “TIF” format and at 72 DPI, in “JPG” format

Image’s size: cm 20x15

- DESCRIPTION of the pieces. The candidates must send the detailed description of each piece (material, technique, size……)

Selection of participants
The jury will announce the results of the selection by end of February 2009.
Selected artists must send their jewels, following the instructions they will receive. Each participant must present 5 pieces for the exhibition.

The costs for the travelling of the jewellery to and from Lucca is at the charge of the authors.

All the pieces will be insured by the organization during the stay in Lucca.
